From: kris@moosequest.net To: [Pilot contact / onboarding — confirm via https://pilot.com] Subject: Pre-launch software LLC — bookkeeping + tax stack — S-Corp election deadline 2026-08-05
Hello,
I'm Kristerpher Henderson, founder of MooseQuest LLC (EIN 42-2725169) — a single-member Pennsylvania LLC formed 2026-05-21, doing business as Raxx. Raxx is a SaaS product for individual investors, currently in pre-launch stage. I'm looking to set up my bookkeeping and tax stack with a firm that has a strong fintech and software-business track record, which is why Pilot is on my list.
Immediate deadline that determines timing on everything else: Form 2553 S-Corp election by 2026-08-05. That is the 75-day window from LLC formation for a 2026 tax-year election. Before I engage a bookkeeping platform, I need to confirm whether the tax-prep side of the engagement can handle this filing by that date — or advise me in writing to file it separately so I can move on it immediately.
I'm looking for:
- Form 2553 S-Corp election filing support — effective 2026 tax year, by 2026-08-05
- Bookkeeping + tax prep stack — automated bookkeeping from formation, monthly close, Form 1120-S, K-1, personal 1040, quarterly estimated taxes as the business generates revenue
Specific issues I need covered from the start:
- PA franchise tax obligations for a single-member PA LLC
- S-Corp election mechanics and reasonable salary calculation pre-revenue
- Quarterly estimated tax setup for 2026
- Apple In-App Purchase revenue recognition — Raxx sells through Apple's App Store; Apple acts as merchant of record; revenue arrives as net proceeds on a roughly monthly cycle
- Stripe subscription revenue recognition for direct web subscriptions
- Revenue recognition for SaaS subscriptions generally — cash vs. accrual, deferred revenue if any annual pre-pays are offered
On the bookkeeping side specifically:
Raxx's revenue streams at launch are (1) Stripe monthly subscriptions and (2) Apple IAP. Expenses are primarily SaaS infrastructure (Heroku), third-party API subscriptions, and standard SaaS COGS. No employees at formation — sole founder only. I want the chart of accounts and bookkeeping conventions set correctly from day one so there's no cleanup at tax time.
Materials I can provide at onboarding:
- EIN: 42-2725169
- Pennsylvania Articles of Organization (filed 2026-05-21)
- FinCEN BOI filing status — exempt under the March 2025 IFR (reporting rule currently stayed)
- Bank and Stripe API feeds can be connected immediately
To move forward: Please share your onboarding process and a quote or fee structure for both the Form 2553 filing and the ongoing bookkeeping + tax-prep engagement. I'm evaluating a short list in parallel given the 2026-08-05 deadline.
Thank you.
